Who we are:

What is BAM?

BAM is a communications agency built specifically for venture-backed startups and venture funds. We build Narrative Capital™: the kind that gets you in TechCrunch, on a VC's radar, and in front of the audiences that move your valuation. We've been doing this since 2008, and we're not slowing down.

What makes BAM different from other PR agencies?

We build Narrative Capital™. BAM is the only communications agency with a proprietary network of 490+ venture funds and LPs, 40+ invite-only media events per year, and a 15-year track record of helping startups raise more capital, reach unicorn status, and exit. Our clients have raised up to 41% more funding. That's the difference.

What industries does BAM specialize in?

We specialize in the sectors where venture capital moves fastest: AI, fintech, healthtech, enterprise/B2B, logistics and supply chain, consumer tech, people and HR tech, climate tech, sustainability, and B Corps. If you're venture-backed and building something that matters, we’d love to connect with you.

What stages of funding does BAM work with?

We work with companies from Series A and beyond. We also work directly with venture capital firms on their own communications and investor relations. Whether you just closed your first round or you're preparing to go public, we have a playbook for your stage.

What is the C.A.R.E.S. framework?

C.A.R.E.S. is BAM's proprietary communications strategy. It stands for Connect, Amplify, Reach, Engage, and Scale - five interconnected pillars that turn PR into a compounding growth engine.

Connect - We leverage deep media relationships to secure earned coverage that reaches the right audiences at the right time.

Amplify - We make sure that coverage doesn't disappear. We amplify across LinkedIn, newsletters, digital communities, and internal channels.

Reach - We host 40+ invite-only media events annually, connecting founders, journalists, and investors face-to-face.

Engage - We open doors to our network of 490+ venture funds and LPs with warm, personally brokered introductions.

Scale - We build in-person and digital communities that turn audiences into long-term growth channels through Community-Led Growth (CLG).

What we do:

How does BAM approach media relations?

We don't spray and pray. We hand-select journalist lists, craft exclusive story angles, and execute targeted outreach built on decade-long relationships with reporters across tech, business, national, and trade media. You get proactive pitching, rapid response to breaking news cycles, executive visibility campaigns, award submissions, media training, and crisis communications all under one roof.

Does BAM handle crisis communications?

Yes. Crisis communications is part of every BAM retainer. We provide on-call strategy and proactive crisis planning so you're never caught flat-footed. If you're in a crisis right now, reach out immediately.

What does executive visibility look like working with BAM?

We build founder and GP profiles through op-eds, interviews, industry commentary, LinkedIn ghostwriting, and X strategy. Your voice becomes a consistent presence in the conversations your investors, customers, and future hires are already having.

What top-tier relationships do you have?

BAM has relationships with reporters from the most influential, reputable, and widely consumed news publications across different industries. This includes:

The New York Times
The Wall Street Journal
TechCrunch
The Information
Forbes
The Financial Times
Fortune
Bloomberg
Barrons
Axios
Reuters
CNBC
TIME
Inc.

What trade relationships do you have?

When it comes to building and scaling a sticky media relations program, the biggest unlock isn’t always jumping straight to top-tier targets. It’s building real traction in the right trade publications first, then expanding from there. This is especially important for early-stage technical companies targeting traditional, risk-averse, and compliance-heavy industries like legal and insurance.

How much does BAM charge?

BAM's monthly retainers start at $15,000 for at least 6-months. We're always open to conversations with technology companies and VCs, reach out and we'll tell you quickly whether we're the right fit and what a retainer would look like for your stage and goals.

How do I know if BAM is the right fit?

BAM is built for venture-backed startups from Series A to IPO and for venture capital firms. If you're raising capital, scaling fast, or preparing for a liquidity event and you need a communications partner who understands how the venture ecosystem actually works, we're your team.

What results can I expect when working with BAM?

Our clients have raised up to 41% more capital after working with BAM. We've helped 25+ companies reach unicorn status or exit, including BackMarket ($5.7B), Pacaso ($1.5B), Pivot Bio ($2B), Unite Us ($1.6B), and Upstart ($2.1B exit). Results vary by stage, industry, and goals, but consistent storytelling works.

How does BAM measure PR success?

Success is measured by the quality of inputs and outputs, not by the volume of pitches or media stories secured alone. BAM provides clients with ongoing reporting on pitching activity, journalist engagement, and narrative pull-through, alongside more detailed quarterly reviews focused on progress toward long-term goals, share of voice, and executive relevance. Our KPIs should connect to your business goals.

Can I see examples of BAM's work?

Yes - visit our Clients page for case studies and results across industries and stages.

What are BAM's invite-only events?

BAM hosts 40+ invite-only events annually, including Media Matchmaking Day, VC Comms Con (an annual gathering of 120+ communications professionals from venture funds worldwide), and media dinners. As a BAM client, you get priority access to these events, and the relationships that come from them.

What is VC Comms Con?

VC Comms Con is BAM's flagship annual event, an invite-only gathering of over 120 communications professionals from venture funds around the world. It's one of the few places where the people who shape how VCs communicate all come together. We are working on dropping our 2027 event soon!

How to work with us:

What does the onboarding process look like?

Once the MSA is signed, we get straight to work. Within ten days, we hold a kickoff meeting, confirm goals, share a draft media list tailored to your target audiences, and send a 90-day PR plan mapping messages, milestones, and owners. We also open a shared Slack channel so questions and approvals flow in real time instead of getting buried in email. From there, we move directly into execution with clear momentum and accountability from day one.

How quickly can we get started?

We can typically onboard a new client within 2-4 weeks of executing our agreement. If you have an announcement coming up or a time-sensitive situation, tell us in your intake form, and we'll prioritize accordingly.
