Epicore Biosystems

Epicore Biosystems is a digital health company spun out of Northwestern University's Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics and the John A. Rogers Laboratory. Epicore has developed advanced sweat-sensing wearables that provide real-time personalized health insights. Their clinically validated biowearable solutions and cloud analytics are deployed globally and licensed by leading Fortune 500 companies and the Department of Defense. 

THE CHALLENGE

Before partnering with BAM in 2022, Epicore Biosystems had a small media footprint. Most of their coverage focused on its partners and very little on Epicore and its technology.

They aimed to increase brand awareness among worker safety, industrial hygiene, and climate change-focused reporters, as well as those in sports/fitness-focused reporters. Given the ongoing conversations over the last few years regarding heat stress, heat-related injuries, and worker and athlete safety, it was essential for Epicore to communicate its brand and message to current and potential customers, partners, investors, and the media.

THE GOAL

Epicore’s ultimate goal was to get top-tier coverage to help build brand awareness and credibility amongst its target audiences and within the business/tech market.

THE SOLUTION

BAM’s strategy included leveraging Epicore Biosystems’ partners for joint media opportunities and to showcase third-party credibility, as media are always keen on hearing the end-user’s perspective. THE RESULTS

By securing a feature story in TIME Magazine that highlighted Epicore’s technology and data, Epicore Biosystems was able to strengthen its relationship with partners, including Chevron. Following the coverage, BAM and Epicore announced a partnership with Chevron, which resulted in coverage in the Associated Press and the Wall Street Journal, highlighting both companies as innovators in the space. Since BAM began its partnership with Epicore in 2022, they have secured more than 230 pieces of coverage.
