Hugs and Hospitality: BAM’s 7th Annual VC Comms Con

Written by BAM TEAM | Feb 27, 2025 6:41:35 PM

Last week BAM held our 6th annual VC Comms Con in sunny San Diego. This year we chose the Prado, the House of Hospitality, in Balboa park, as our venue to tie in with our theme of Hospitality.

Our goal was to welcome our network of marketing and comms professionals and make them feel at home throughout our three days together. With so much communication happening digitally, we remain steadfast that in person collaboration is essential for building and maintaining relationships. And in a world soon increasingly focused on AI, we believe relationships are everything.

To kick off conference day in our Hospitality theme, we welcomed Jessica Coleman from The Magic of Human Connection, to set the stage and create an environment focused on building community and deepening our connection to one another.

Our main conference day continued on featuring sixteen breakout sessions and a media panel. Each year the content changes, but some of this years’ standout panels were All things AI to make your fund fly, A candid convo about managing multiple stakeholders and making each party feel special, Navigating the 2025 policy-driven media landscape, and Supercharging Your Marketing KPIs with a Compelling 'Why'.

We left last week inspired by the many brilliant minds we had in the same place to share insights, discuss challenges, and collaborate on solutions.

Don't just take our word for it! See what our community had to say about VC Comms Con 2025:

  • “This conference is a rare and energizing space where comms professionals from top VC firms worldwide come together—not just to learn, but to swap ideas, challenge norms, and build community.” Carly Martin
  • “At VC Comms Con, one word kept coming up: currency. Not in the financial sense, but in the unique value you bring to the table: your expertise, perspective, and strengths.” Olivia Kronemeyer
  • “This group is an absolute treasure—smart, collaborative, and genuinely fun to be around. What we do is niche, tough, and often behind-the-scenes, but having a network like this makes it all the more rewarding.” Kayla Liderbach
  • “I always leave this event feeling validated and inspired by the community’s spirit of openness—where sharing strategies and supporting one another takes precedence over competition. It’s events like these that empower us all, especially the incredible comms pros who keep the engine running for our partners and portfolio companies during these dynamic times.” Maggie Bolt
  • “Nothing beats being in a room with people who understand your exact challenges. The openness to share, learn, and support each other made every session valuable.” Dan Landau
  • “Beck has built a special space for the small but mighty teams working hard to make things happen for their firms, and VC Comms Con puts in one room (or in this case, an enchanted hacienda) those who "tackle the same challenges but approach them in wildly different, creative ways.” Ola Jewusiak

We had a fantastic time this year and are already looking forward to our 7th VC Comms Con in 2026! Thank you to all attendees and everyone who supported VC Comms Con.
